Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most popular questions we get at the Callingwood Farmers’ Market. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, please feel free to email our Market Manager.

  • The Callingwood Farmers’ Market is a food establishment and, as much as we love your dogs, we enforce a NO ANIMAL POLICY (service dogs are welcome with valid registration). While we understand this is disappointing, we ask for your cooperation and understanding.

  • To become a vendor at the market, you must first complete an application and await approval from the Market Manager. If/When you receive approval, you need to have the following in place before you can start at the market:
    • Liability insurance (we suggest Western Financial Group or Duuo Insurance).
    • Alberta food safety certification (applies to food vendors only).
    • A liquor license and Pro-Serve certification (applies to alcohol vendors only).
    • Have Alberta food safety certification and meet requirements to operate a mobile food vending unit (applies to concession vendors only).
    • Table(s), chair(s), tent(s) and tent weights (minimum of 25 lbs. per leg), if applicable.

  • All our current vendors are listed on our website, so you can easily find the vendor you’re looking for here. Then you can either contact them directly or look at our weekly market map to see if they’re on the schedule the day you’re visiting.

  • First, try checking the listing here on our website which include all our current vendors. If you still can’t remember, simply email the Market Manager directly.

  • Throughout the season, the Callingwood Farmers’ Market runs contests and promotions where customers can win Market Bucks. These Market Bucks can be used just like cash at the market, so if a customer has $20 in Market Bucks and purchases an item for $10, he/she would get $10 back in cash. It is important to note that this is a market-run program and vendors are fully reimbursed by the market for any Market Bucks they redeem. This has proven to be an excellent program that benefits both our customers and vendors!

  • Every month, we host a free kids’ activity. Check out the schedule here.
